All told, the size increase suits the Nook. The killer feature, of course, is the display. With 1,920 x 1,280 resolution and a pixel density of 256 ppi, it edges out the Fire HD 8.9's 1,920 x 1,200, 254-ppi screen, and certainly trumps the Nook HD's 1,440 x 900, 243-ppi panel. Images really pop on that 1,920 x 1,280 display, and reading feels quite natural when you're holding the device in portrait mode.
Nook HD/HD+ supports various media formats (e.g. MP4, M4A, 3GP), however, like other Android tablets, the Nook HD and HD+ do not support MPEG-2 video. This prevents you from watching DVD movies (.vob video with MPEG-2 codec). Guide: how to convert DVD for Nook HD/HD+ playback
Step 1. Click "Add" button to load DVD Rom, DVD folders, ISO files or IFO files respectively.
