Apple recently released a preview version of Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion for developer program. That is to say, if you're up to date on those $99/year dues, you can login to the Member Center to get your OS upgraded to Mac OS X 10.8 in advance, which is also called Mountain Lion. Taking the meaning of the animal, the Mountain Lion means more powerful, stronger and faster than its previous version – Lion. Other Mac users have to wait until the formal version announced in this summer.

Several months ago, Apple was hoped to combine the mobile applications with Mac apps. It's more of the same: this release introduces a slew of feature enhancements, and of the ones Apple is highlighting, practically all were borrowed from iOS. And we do mean borrowed: the company has cloned some of the best features from its mobile platform. Until now, Mission Control has roughly approximated the iPhone's grid layout in a desktop setting -- but that feature always felt like a bit of an aside, something the user could safely ignore if he or she saw fit. In a word, many functions or apps which are running on iPhone and iPad, such as iMessage, iCloud and Reminders will be available on Mac soon.
And now, these shiny new Messages, Reminders, Notes and Notification Center apps are truly going to runs on Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Apple introduces it on its official Website: “You’re about to use your Mac in all-new ways with OS X Mountain Lion. Because it’s designed with innovations from iPad and it works even better with iCloud. And that makes everything you do on the Mac smarter, easier, and even more fun.”
