Stream/Share Android Phone Movies to DLNA certified HD Media Players

Tired of having your photos, videos and music trapped on your Android phone? Stream your media from the phone to any DLNA-compliant player then. In that case you can watch your phone shootings and movie collections on HDTV instantly – without side loading.

The following guide tells you how to stream your Android Phone Movies to DLNA certified HD Media Players (e.g. WD TV Live Hub, Popcorn Hour A-210, NeoTV 550 Ultimate HD).

Getting ready for streaming Android Phone videos and music:

  1. Download the Skifta mobile app from the Android Marketplace, and install it to your Android smartphone.
  2. Connect to your WiFi network and make sure both the Android smartphone and target HD media player are connected to your home network.

Steps for playing media from your Android phones on a DLNA player:

  1. Open Skifta on your phone, press “Choose a media source and choose your Android phone as source.
  2. Press “Choose a player” and choose your networked HD media player as target.
  3. Press “Browse and play media”, and now you see the accessible media type: Music, Videos, Pictures and Playlists. Choose “Videos” and select a video to play.

Provided the file you are trying to play uses a compatible media format, it should play in a few seconds.

Tip 1: You can also stream Android Phone pictures and music to a DLNA Player or use your Android phone to play home networked media from PC and NAS devices. A DLNA Player could be PS3, Xbox 360, DLNA-compliant HDTV and PC.

Tip 2: Not all the media types are compliant with DLNA streaming. You can find DLNA Media formats for Mobile/Handheld Devices in the following sheet.
