DVD Authoring - Customize Menu & Playback Mode
Use a Menu Template
To use a preset menu template from DVD Creator for Mac, simply double-click on the template.
Go without DVD Menu
When/if you don’t need DVD menu, use “No Menu” from Menu Templates area.
Customize DVD Menu
To customize an object, you have to select it first. Cut over in the Menu Structure area to select the page that you’d like to custom. Custom includes changing the DVD menu template/style, menu text, display aspect ratio and background for the DVD menu. You can also set chapter mark, and playback mode.
Change DVD Menu Text
To change DVD menu text, select the text box (e.g. My DVD, Play, Scene, Remark, Chapter) from Main Menu page, and type the title that you want to use for your DVD. Set text size, color, style, font as you like.
Change Background Image/Video
To change background image/video, proceed as follows:
1. Press the “” button.
-> Background Image/Video window pops up.
2. Check “Use Other Image” or “Use Other Video” option.
3. Press “” and browse to the image or video that you’d like to use as background. Set start and end point to use a short clip (no longer than 30s) from source video.
4. Press “OK”.
Change Background Music
To change background music, proceed as follows:
1. Press the “” button.
-> Background Music Settings window pops up.
2. Press “” and browse to the audio file that you’d like to use.
3. Clip a short duration (no longer than 30s) from source audio to use as background music.
4. Press “OK”.
Change Title Thumbnail
To change thumbnail of the DVD movie or certain title, proceed as follows:
1. Select a title (e.g. Title 1) from Menu Structure area.
2. Press “” button.
-> Title Thumbnail settings window pops up.
3. Check “Use Other Image” or “Use Other Video” option.
4. Press “” and browse to the image or video that you’d like to use as thumbnail.
To use a short clip (no longer than 30s) from source video, set start and end point. To use a frame from the video, play the video to the frame you’d like to use and check “Use the frame of the video”.
6. Press “OK”.
Change Display Aspect Ratio
Press “” button to switch display ratio between 4:3 and 16:9.
Change Thumbnail Frame Style
To change thumbnail frame style, proceed as follows:
1. Switch to Title Page in Menu Structure area.
2. Select a title that displays as a thumbnail frame.
-> Frame templates appear at bottom of the interface.
3. To use a frame template, double-click on it.
Repeat above steps to change style for other titles.
Change Button Style
To change button style, proceed as follows:
1. Switch to Title Page in Menu Structure area.
2. Select a button.
-> Button templates appear at bottom of the interface.
3. To use a button template, double-click on it.
Repeat above steps to change style for other buttons.
Change/Add Chapter Marks
By default each video clip is recognized as a chapter with a chapter mark. To customize chapter marks, proceed as follows:
1. Select Title 1 in Menu Structure area.
2. Press “” button.
-> Chapter Mark window pops up.
3. Play the title and while add chapter mark with “Insert Chapter” button. You may use the Auto mode to add chapter as well.
4. Press “OK” to save your settings.
Set Disc Playback Preference
To set DVD playback preference, press “” button and set start position and playback mode. To burn a loop DVD, simply set playback mode to “Play all titles in a continuous loop”.
